During the winter season December to May my speciality is to organize 1-7 day ski tours (day tours to multi-day "haute routes"), off-piste skiing, resort to resort ski safaris, avalanche / mountain safety or a mixture of these in Switzerland, France and Italy.
Every Spring I take groups to Tromso in the north of Norway combining ski touring with sailing.
As an experienced mountain guide I already have a regular clientele who return year after year for a real mountain experience away from the crowded pistes. They are all aware of the advantage of flexibility in plans to ensure a safe and most enjoyable ski experience.
Suggested Itineraries
Day Tours
In the region of Leysin, the "Alpes Vaudoises" there are any number of day tours and off piste itineraries up to 3200, at the summit of Diablerets. Locally Truex gives a beautiful initiation to ski touring, or by connecting to Les Mosses and climbing Mont Chevreuil to finish near Chateau d'Oex. The excellent infrastructure, lifts, post buses, and trains opens many possibilities between Diablerets, Villars, Les Mosses, Rougemont, Gsteig and Gstaad.
I can take you off piste skiing and ski touring at an introductory to advanced level. It is also possible to travel further afield if necessary towards Grand St. Bernard, Les Marrecotes, Ovronnaz in Valais or the Gstaad / Lenk region to the east.
2/3 Day Ski Tours
A good network of huts and mountain hotels can give you the feeling of getting away from it all. To stay at the monastery at Grand St. Bernard is a great experience as it is only accessible by ski touring or snowshoes in winter. There is also excellent skiing and touring possibilities in the area in both Switzerland and Italy. Or for the experienced ski tourer Diablerets to Lenk via the Wildhorn and Wildstrubel is superb!
In Valais, Val d'Anniviers offers excellent skiing/touring (Grimmentz, ZInal, St. Luc, Vecorin, Nax); Lotschental, Leukerbad, Gemmipass, Kandersteg region. In Italy a tour in the Val d'Aosta is not only great for touring but also for good food and wine.
4-7 Day Ski Tours
The Haute Route, Chamonix-Zermatt is not the only high level route to be skied! It does become busy during April and requires very good conditions and a fit, experienced group.
